General Information: Founded in 1834, this church-owned university enrolls over 30,000 students. There are ten different faculties, all of which are located in the campus city of Louvain-la-Neuve except for the outsourced medical faculty. It is the largest French-speaking university in Belgium.
Study programs and specializations: There is a bachelor's degree in psychology and education with a focus on speech therapy and a general bachelor's degree in psychology and education. In addition, a general master's program in psychology is offered.
Study schedule: The winter semester begins in mid-September and ends in mid-December. This is followed by exams during the first three weeks of January. The summer semester begins in early February and ends in mid-May. The semester is interrupted by two weeks of Easter vacation; the examination period takes place in June. A third exam period for retaking exams is held in mid-August through early September.
Other Information: Religious affiliation does not play a role in studying at the Université Catholique de Louvain. It is possible to take a French course online at the university before the start of the semester abroad.
